Yoga Class Series

By learning new movements and achieving various yoga poses, students benefit through: increased flexibility; lubrication of joints, ligaments, and tendons; massaging of organs of the body; and muscle tone. Yoga also promotes detoxification by optimizing blood supply to various parts of the body. Yoga creates a remarkable calmness to help support a more positive outlook and promotes healthy harmony between the mind and body. Weeknight and weekend classes are available.

Gentle Beginner’s Yoga Level I

In this class you will be introduced to the practice of yoga in a small group setting with individual attention provided by an experienced Yoga Instructor. You will learn how to correctly align your breathing and movement as you perform the basic yoga poses. You will learn the modifications for poses so that you will have a safe and beneficial yoga practice.

Ashtanga Yoga:

Ashtanga Yoga is a challenging and flowing form of Hatha Yoga, which brings the body, mind and spirit into perfect alignment and function. The Ashtanga practice combines breath control, isometrics, focused gazing, and an uninterrupted sequence of postures into a moving meditation, enhancing self awareness and concentration. All classes are ongoing and open to all students. Ashtanga requires some yoga experience and familiarity with Sun Salutes also known as vinyasas.

Chair Yoga:

Chair Yoga offers a safe, low-impact workout, with cross training benefits that will change your life for the best. Flexibility, mobility, bone density, and strength can all be enhanced with the practice of Chair Yoga.

All it takes is the motivation to get started. The main prop used is a chair. This helps with balancing poses, and most common Yoga postures can be modified for the chair.  Chair yoga students will progress to using a mat as able.
